Fixing the links
We find the dead links. We don't yet change them for you from inside this site — there is no button here that edits a description.
That leaves three ways to get them fixed, cheapest first. The first is free and takes about a minute.
1. Start with the line you've been pasting
On most channels this is the whole job. A link in hundreds of videos is almost never hundreds of decisions — it's one block of text you wrote once and have been pasting under every upload since.
In YouTube Studio that block is Settings → Upload defaults → Basic info → Description. It costs nothing, takes a minute, and stops the list growing.
It does not touch a single existing video. That's the next two sections.
2. Edit the old videos yourself, with a bulk editor
YouTube Studio can bulk-edit descriptions, but it can only replace the whole description or add to it — it has no find-and-replace inside the text you already have. That gap is why the tools below exist, and it's the one thing to check before paying for any of them.
The file we give you is built for exactly this: video IDs and a replace_with
column, in the format these tools take, ranked so the videos still pulling traffic are at
the top.
| Tool | Price | Find-and-replace inside a description |
|---|---|---|
| TubeReplace | Free — 30 edits a day | Yes, and it shows you each change before you confirm |
| Description Modifier | Free for 3 runs · $9/mo | Yes — preview, and it keeps an undo history of your last 10 runs |
| Video Bulk Editor | Free, open source | Yes — whole channel in one table, CSV in and out |
| TubeBuddy | Star tier, about $12–20/mo | Yes — Bulk Find and Replace, across descriptions |
| EditBulk | Free credits on sign-up | Yes. It stopped publishing a price — you'll see it after logging in |
| YouTube Studio | Free | No — replaces or appends the whole description only |
Prices read on 6 September 2026, from each vendor's own pricing page except TubeBuddy, whose page refuses automated readers — that one is from third-party trackers, they do not agree with each other, and it's the one to check yourself — some trackers put bulk find-and-replace a tier higher, on Legend. Prices here move fast, so treat every number as the day it was read. We take no commission and there are no affiliate links on this page.
Before you run any of them: YouTube itself has no undo. Two of the tools above keep an
undo history of their own, which is a real reason to prefer them, but once a description is
overwritten nothing on YouTube's side will bring it back. Copy your current descriptions
first, and replace a complete URL rather than a fragment of one —
https://shop.example.com/old and never example.com, which matches
inside a dozen links you didn't mean.
3. Or we do it by hand
If you'd rather not spend the afternoon: you add us as a Manager on your channel, we make the replacements in YouTube Studio, and you remove us again. It's a permission you grant from your own settings and revoke in one click. No password, no access to your Google account, no software installed, and nothing about who owns the channel changes.
What that involves, exactly:
- You tell us which links should point where. That's the one part we can't do for you.
- We send you the exact replacements first — old string, new string, and the videos each one touches. Nothing happens until you've said yes.
- We save a copy of every description we're about to change, so any edit can be put back.
- We make the edits, send you the list of what changed, and you remove our access.
- We re-scan the channel afterwards and confirm it's clean — free whether or not we did the editing.
It's a fixed fee agreed in writing before anything starts, and it doesn't change with the number of videos. Pressing the button on your report charges nothing and commits you to nothing — a person reads it and writes back.
What we won't do
- Guess where a link should point. We can see a link is dead. We can't see which of your sponsors is still paying you.
- Rewrite your descriptions. We swap one exact string for another. Nothing else in the text is touched.
- Ask for your password, or for API access to your account. Manager access is a standard YouTube permission you control from your own settings, and it's the most we ever ask for.
- Keep access afterwards. Removing us is one click and we'll remind you to do it.
About the button that isn't here yet
We are building the automated version — a preview of every change before anything is written, then the edits made through YouTube's own API. It isn't finished, we're not going to give you a date for it, and until it exists this page is the honest answer instead of a waiting list.
If you've already asked us to fix your links: thank you. There are not many of you yet, and each one changes what gets built next more than you'd guess. All three routes above are open to you today, and if none of them fits your channel, write and say so.
